Can You Really Heal Your Life? Sharing My Story
When I was unwell, I kept my struggles private, out of shame and fear of judgment. I never anticipated that my life would unfold the way it did, but that’s part of my life’s journey. These days, I choose to share my story as it might offer hope or possibly make a positive impact on someone who is experiencing symptoms of chronic stress, and is struggling to find balance and fulfillment in their lives.
There is a path to inner peace and wellness, but noone has let you know it exists nor how to go about it. It takes a leap of faith, and it is not a linear path, but the one that takes you one step forward and two steps back. It is the one that requires you to let go of what you currently know and believe in.
When I realised that the conventional approach to healing is focused on symptom management, I came to understand that if my lifestyle and the perfectionist mindset took me down the path of ill health, I needed to figure out, how do I unwind my path. I needed to figure out how I could possibly heal what was broken inside of me.
When your life shatters, you feel helpless and ashamed. You don’t want to live a broken life, but a normal one, the one of happiness, wellness and peace. You know the path that took you there, but you chose not to admit it.
True wellness requires digging into the root cause, opening the doors to our hearts where true healing begins. Only we hold the key to unlocking the path to our own healing, and on that journey of discovery, you start to grow hope as you uncover so much wisdom and stories of healing…You start discovering a book after a book… and the first thing you read is… ‘This practice has changed my life…’ and then you ask yourself… How did these people achieve their miracles? Could this work for me? – Do I hold the power to heal me?
I had the privilege of being interviewed on the Reiki Women Podcast by the Bronwen Logan, Reiki author, teacher, and co-founder of the International House of Reiki. This conversation shed light on my deeply personal healing journey—transitioning from a dedicated mother and analytics professional to a point of experiencing ill health as a result of chronic stress, followed by a nervous breakdown, leading me on a journey to heal my life.
I shared how embracing the traditional Japanese perspective of Reiki practice became a pivotal element in my healing process. Through Reiki, I discovered ways to release tension and stress, eventually leading me to a state of balance that empowered my body’s optimal functioning, helping me fully recover from the state I found myself in, and lead a normal life. I chose the practice because I ‘ve read about it on Cleveland clinic’s web site. If it is utilised by staff and patients in world’s top teaching hospital- there must be something in it.
This journey of taking a leap of faith, not only allowed me to heal, but also inspired me to share this transformative Japanese healing art with others. My interview sheds light on Reiki practice only. There is a mindset and a multitude of mind-body practices work that has accompanied my transformational journey.
One key aspect discussed during the interview was the profound impact of the Reiki precept “Do Not Worry” on my journey. This principle has played a significant role in reshaping my perspective and approach to challenges in life.
Bronwen Logan’s expertise, reflected in her influential Reiki research books, classes, and educational materials, provides a valuable backdrop to our conversation. This interview was an exploration of personal healing, the transformative power of Reiki practice, and the importance of embracing its principles in navigating complexities in life.
If you are crumbling under chronic stress, it is time you change the course of your life because you and everyone you love in your life are worth it.
